Taraba State Independent Electoral Commision (TSIEC) Announces 18th Nov, 2023 for Local Government Council Election:
September 17, 2023

The Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) has today 11th September, 2023, has officially announced 18th Nov, 2023 for the Taraba State Local Government Council Election for Chairman and Councillors elections across the 16 Local Government Areas.
Speaking in an interview with the Executive Chairman of the Commission in his office Jalingo after an interactive session with relevant Political & other Stakeholders on the forthcoming Local Government Council Election, Chief Dr. Philip Danladi Duwe, confirmed that, the 18th Nov, 2023 is the officially approved date of the TSIEC for the Taraba State Local Government Council Election in the State.
And that, all necessary processes to have the elections materials are put in place as the governor is so committed in supporting and ensuring a free and fair elections in the state.
Also Speaking with the Chairman Inter Party Association Council, and the State PDP Secretary Taraba State, Hon. Kuriya Tafarki Auta, expresses optimism over the decision of the governor of the state Dr. Agbu Kefas, to hold Local Government Election by November 18th for the betterment of the state. And also commended the commitment of the Commission on her readiness to conduct and and deliver successfully in the forthcoming Local Government Council Election, and that PDP and other parties are
fully informed and ready for the date set by the Commission (TSIEC).

Grid collapse: Restoration in advance stage- TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said that the national grid restoration nationwide was in progress and has reached advanced stages. This, it said, has now led to power supply in the West, North-Central, South, East, and a large portion of the Northern parts of the country on Thursday afternoon. Statement signed by the TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the power supply restoration was sequel to the earlier total grid collapse, which occurred at about 12.35am on Thursday, causing outage nationwide, after over 421 days of consistent grid stability. “In the course of the grid restoration, the process initially suffered a setback; this does not amount to another collapse.
