Former Minister of Women Affairs! Aisha Alhassan defects to PDP. In preparation for the 2023 general elections, a former Gvernotorial candidate under the platform of United Democratic Party (UDP) in Taraba state Sen. Aisha Alhassan has decamped to PDP. She made the disclosure during the state UDP stakeholders meeting, held at Unity Hall in Jalingo, Taraba state capital on Saturday. According to the state Chairman of the Party, Alh. Sani Hassan Chul said, a five man committee was set up by the party who made a thorough consultations and carried a survey on people’s views who agreed that Sen. Aisha Alhassan should defect to PDP. The Committee under the Chairmanship of Alh. Abdulmumini Vaki recommended that all the opinions sampled from the masses who are supporters of UDP from the 168 wards of the 16 LGAs of the state agreed that Sen. Aisha should move to the people’s Democratic Party PDP for the development of Taraba State.

Declaring the result,Governor of Taraba State Darius Dickson Ishaku who is the Chairman of the PDP Special Congress said Douye Diri having scored five hundred and sixty one votes is the winner of the congress against second placed Timi Alaibi who scored three hundred and sixty five votes with third placed Keniebi Okoko having One hundred and forty two votes. Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku advised contestant that lost the election not to be disturbed but should join forces with the winner Douye Diri to continue PDP supremacy in Bayelsa state. The Governor thanked the delegates for exhibiting high level of maturity and security operatives for ensuring that the exercise  ended smoothly. Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has given each Pilgrim from Taraba State 100 Saudi Riyal equivalent to Ten Thousand Nigerian Currency. The 2019 Amirul Hajj and also the Eva of Jen Alh Isma'ila Agwaru broke the News while Addressing the Pilgrims last Thursday. The Amirul Hajj who directed all the Centre Officers of the Muslim Pilgrims welfare Board to Start the disbursement instantly after his address, also asked the management of the Board to supervise the payment. Alh Agwaru said the gift by His Excellency is to assist the Pilgrims to intensify supplications and other Ibadat in the Holy Land after completing the Hajj rites.
