BREAKING: Court remands Ndume in prison over Maina

A Federal High Court has ordered Senator Ali Ndume to be remanded at Kuje at Kuje Correctional Centre for failing to produce the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina. Recall that Mr Ndume is standing as surety for Mr Maina over alleged N2billion money laundering. After getting bail, Mr Maina failed to appear in court for the continuation of his trial.

FAAC: 3 tiers of government shared N604 billion as federation allocation for October.

Ministry of Finance has disclosed that N604.004 billion was shared among the 3 tiers of government as federation allocation for October. Highlights: The N604.004 billion shared included the cost of collection to Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Department for Petroleum Resources (DPR), and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). The Federal Government received N220.751 billion, the States received N161.825 billion, while the Local Government Councils (LGCs) got N120.588 billion. Oil-producing states received N31.902 billion as derivation (13% of mineral revenue) and the cost of collection/transfer and refunds got N48.939 billion. The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee disclosed that gross revenue available from the Value Added Tax (VAT) for October was N126.463 billion. This was against N141.858 billion distributed in the preceding month of September, resulting in a decrease of N15.395 billion.

MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING FOR BEHEADING OWN SON FOR MONEY RITUAL.

A Middle age man, Bappa Alti of Ganji village in Gombi Local Government Area, Adamawa state has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing own son, Buba Bappa for money ritual. The state High Court VII presided over by Justice Fatima Ahmed Tafida, on Wenesday convicted Bappa for causing the death of his son by hitting him with a rearing stick and thereafter chopping off his head with a cutlass. NEWS PLATFORM learnt that the convict was tricked by some suspected ritualists (now at large)  to kill his own son in order to make money for him, the devilish idea which he consented to and started planning on how to carry out the act. The convict and his son, late Buba went to the bush on 13th July, 2013 to rear his cattle unknown to the son  that his father was nursing evil plan to kill him. GOVERNOR LALONG MEETS PLATEAU STUDENT WHO SCORES NINE A1 DISTINCTIONS IN WAEC.

It was a moment of pride for Governor Simon Lalong and the people of Plateau when he recieved Miss Sylvia Ulan Andrew, a citizen of Plateau State who emerged the best in the recently conducted WAEC examinations as she scored A1 in all the subjects she sat for during the last examinations.  Ulan who is from Bokkos LGA of the State is a student of Premier Academy, Lugbe Abuja. She is said to have a history of record-breaking having emerged overall best at national common entrance examinations which earned her a scholarship by the Shell Petroleum Company.  Governor Lalong congratulated her for the feat and said he was not surprised because of the abundant talents available in the State. He said the State will grant her scholarship to any University of her choice. Governor Yahaya gifts N2m, car to Gombe man who trekked for Buhari

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has presented N2 million and a car gift to a supporter of his All Progressive Congress (APC), who trekked from Gombe to Abuja to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in 2015general elections. The 50-year old native of Dukku Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, who was simply identified as Dahiru Buba had reportedly developed limb complications from the trekking. According to the governor in a statement issued by his media aide Ismaila Uba Misilli, the aid was to provide a new lease of life to the diehard supporter. He said: “For taking the pains and risks to show solidarity with Mr. President and our great party, people like Buba should not be neglected. NLC Taraba urges workers to exercise patience, as government is making all arrangements to pay the new minimum wage.

The Taraba state Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has appealed to workers in the state to exercise patience and restraint as concerted efforts are being made to ensure the implementation of the new minimum wage as approved by Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku. The state Chairman of the union,Comrade Peter Jediel who gave the indication said already, the table and template for the implementation of the new package have been worked out ready for implementation. A former governor of Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, is dead. Mr Musa’s death was announced by his political associate and former senator, Shehu Sani Balarabe Musa was elected governor of Kaduna State in 1979 but was later controversially impeached and removed from office. He is considered a progessive and worked with people of like minds to mobilise against the military junta of late Sani Abacha.

A grassroot mobilizer and senior special assistant to governor Darius Dickson ishaku, Alhaji ismaila yusha'u Maihanci has condemned with strong terms the action of some youth in taraba state in the aftermath of end Sara protest. He stated this during a telephone interview with our reporter. Maihanci said, the Invasion, destruction and looting of government and private individuals properties is a pure criminal act and stand to be condemned by any sensible person. He commended the swift action of governor Darius Dickson ishaku, religious leaders and traditional rulers in curtailing the looting spree in time and urged the looters of the properties to return them.
