Senator Douye Diri has emerged as the People's Democratic Party Candidate in the November twenty nineteen gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State

.

Declaring the result,Governor of Taraba State Darius Dickson Ishaku who is the Chairman of the PDP Special Congress said Douye Diri having scored five hundred and sixty one votes is the winner of the congress against second placed Timi Alaibi who scored three hundred and sixty five votes with third placed Keniebi Okoko having One hundred and forty two votes.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku advised contestant that lost the election not to be disturbed but should join forces with the winner Douye Diri to continue PDP supremacy in Bayelsa state.

The Governor thanked the delegates for exhibiting high level of maturity and security operatives for ensuring that the exercise  ended smoothly.

Former President of the Country Goodluck Ebele Jonathan led delegates from Ogbia Local Government Area and Governor of Bayelsa State Seriake Dickson led delegates from Sagbama their respective Local Government Areas.

Delegates from Nembe,Brass,Ekeremo,Kolokuma Opukuma,Yenagoa and Southern Ijaw with the highest delegates of two hundred at the Congress also voted.

Twenty One aspirant took part in the Congress.

Our reporter says the early soaked tension among delegates before the commencement of voting was completely doused off with the strategy adopted by the Chairman of the Congress Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku who gave all delegates a clear playing ground to vote making the Congress the most peaceful and credible in recent time.
