The legislator also announced that he will soon provide electric power transformers and create employment opportunities and massive empowerment for his constituents. BREAKING: CBN plans to change naira notes in 2024.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has denied plans to re-denominate the naira, saying, the statement credited to it on the various social media platforms is fake. Messages making the rounds on social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook claim that the CBN plans to introduce a new naira policy that will see the naira being redenominated. According to the message, the redenomination process will take place by dropping two zeros from the currency or moving two decimal places to the left. The message read, “The name of the national currency will still be the Naira. However, during the transition period, the existing Naira will be referred to as the “Old Naira”, and the new one to be called the “New Naira”. After the transition period, the word “New” may be dropped. For example, the following equivalents will obtain as we re-denominate: “50 kobo Half kobo; N1 = 1 kobo coin; N2 = 2 kobo coin; N5 = 5 kobo coin; N10 = 10 kobo coin; N20 = 20 kobo coin; N50 = 50 kobo coin or

The management of the Yola  Electricity Distribution Company, YEDC was at the Government House, Jalingo to condole with the Governor of Taraba State Dr Agbu Kefas over the death of a family of four who were electrocuted. Receiving the management on behalf of the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, commended the company for the steps taken so far on the sad development and urged them to expedite action on compensation to the bereaved families. The Deputy Governor said the state will continue to partner with the company for constant electricity supply for the economic development of the state. Grid collapse: Restoration in advance stage- TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said that the national grid restoration nationwide was in progress and has reached advanced stages. This, it said, has now led to power supply in the West, North-Central, South, East, and a large portion of the Northern parts of the country on Thursday afternoon. Statement signed by the TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the power supply restoration was sequel to the earlier total grid collapse, which occurred at about 12.35am on Thursday, causing outage nationwide, after over 421 days of consistent grid stability. “In the course of the grid restoration, the process initially suffered a setback; this does not amount to another collapse.
