Ayade orders security search on all campaign convoys in Cross River

Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River, has directed the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa, to stop and search all political parties’ campaign convoys in the state to curb illegal arms.
Ayade gave the directive in a statement issued on Monday, in Calabar, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Christian Ita.
The governor said that the directive had become imperative following security reports which indicated that some politicians and their supporters were stockpiling arms and ammunition ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The governor assured residents in the state of adequate security before, during and after the general elections.

Governor Yahaya gifts N2m, car to Gombe man who trekked for Buhari

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has presented N2 million and a car gift to a supporter of his All Progressive Congress (APC), who trekked from Gombe to Abuja to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in 2015general elections. The 50-year old native of Dukku Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, who was simply identified as Dahiru Buba had reportedly developed limb complications from the trekking. According to the governor in a statement issued by his media aide Ismaila Uba Misilli, the aid was to provide a new lease of life to the diehard supporter.
