Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has signed the twenty twenty Taraba State Appropriation Bill into law.

     Titled Budget of accelerated growth and development provides for projects that will rapidly open the state for fast social and economic development.

     Speaking after signing the budget, Governor Darius Ishaku said the budget represents the determination of his administration to work harder and leave indelible marks on the sands of history in the state.

     He said the budget was specially tailored to cover most areas being targeted for development under his rescue administration.

     Governor Darius Ishaku recalled some of the landmark achievements of the first tenure of his administration and noted that water provision,  education, transportation, health and empowerment of women and youths remain the most notable.

     The Governor commended the state House of Assembly for the cooperation his administration had enjoyed so far that has enabled him achieve alots.

     He said the administration was determined to consolidate on the achievements by working harder in the second phase of his administration.

     Governor Ishaku disclosed that he would soon inaugurate the Taraba State water Company to consolidate the gains of his administration in the provision of water.

     He revealed  that the dualisation of the Airport road in Jalingo has begun with the movement of the contractors to site saying the road would have an overhead bridge that would create ample space for parking by heavy duty vehicles.

     Also speaking at the ceremony,Speaker of the State House of Assembly Joseph Albasu Kunini said members had to forfeit their Christmas and New Year holidays to pass the budget quickly

     He commended the legislators for the sacrifice and Governor Ishaku for the cooperation the members had enjoyed from his administration.

     The Speaker promised the cooperation of the House with the Executive arm of government to ensure faster development of the state.

Grid collapse: Restoration in advance stage- TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said that the national grid restoration nationwide was in progress and has reached advanced stages. This, it said, has now led to power supply in the West, North-Central, South, East, and a large portion of the Northern parts of the country on Thursday afternoon. Statement signed by the TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the power supply restoration was sequel to the earlier total grid collapse, which occurred at about 12.35am on Thursday, causing outage nationwide, after over 421 days of consistent grid stability. “In the course of the grid restoration, the process initially suffered a setback; this does not amount to another collapse. •Re-Plot to Release Kidnappers Terrorizing Jalingo The Chief of Gassol Alhaji Idris Yakubu Chiroma has rejected plots to link him to some persons arrested for kidnapping in Jalingo Taraba State.
