Maihanci cautious Senator Bwacha to stop reckless utterances.

A member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Hon. Ismaila Maihanci, has cautioned Senator Emmanuel Bwacha against assaulting the person and government of Governor Darius Ishaku, saying such political adventure will be disastrous for the lawmaker.

Maihanci, who is a grassroots politician in the state, said the Senator representing Taraba South in the Senate, Bwacha, owes his re-election triumph in the 2019 elections to the support rendered by Governor Ishaku, hence the latter deserves accolades from the former and not insults.

In a press statement sent out to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Maihanci alleged that Bwacha’s governorship ambition was behind his recent attacks on the governor and some party leaders in the state even as he added that nobody is against the lawmaker from succeeding Ishaku in 2023.

“It is obvious that Senator Emmanuel Bwacha is back in the trenches ready to fight those who aided his re-election for another tenure in the Senate. He does so after every election. It is not surprising because it is Bwacha’s usual way of rewarding the good done for him.

“Recently he picked on Governor Darius Ishaku in an undeserved and callous verbal assault in a social media publication. His anger is anchored on the false belief that Governor Ishaku did not support his 2019 re-election bid.

“Those who are familiar with the politics of Taraba State know that Bwacha is only out on a blackmail mission because he couldn’t have been in the Senate today without the approval and support of Gov Ishaku. The governor deployed every arsenal of political warfare – moral and material – in aid of Bwacha’s senatorial re-election.

“Today, Bwacha is telling a totally different story, deliberately fabricated to blackmail Governor Ishaku, his political mentor. How ironic!

“His ambition is to be the next governor of Taraba State in 2023. Nobody is grudging him over that. But he has no right to blackmail the state’s political god-fathers in that process,” Maihanci said.
