Breaking: Army appoint new Spokesman, deploys other senior Officers.
The Nigerian Army has appointed Col. Sagir Musa as the new Acting Director Army Public Relations.
According to a statement by Col. Aliyu Yusuf, Col. Musa’s appointment was contained in the new postings and appointments of some senior officers by the Army Headquarters on Sunday.
Col. Musa’s appointment followed the retirement of the former army spokespereon, Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd), last week Thursday after reaching his retirement age of 35 years in service.
Others affected by the new posting in the Directorate of Army Public Relations are: Col. Onyema Nwachukwu who was moved from Headquarters Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole to Defence Headquarters as Acting Director Defence Information; Col. Aliyu Yusuf, former Chief of Staff in the Directorate of Army Public Relations, has been appointed Deputy Director Public Relations 82 Division Nigerian Army; and Col. AD Isa has been posted to Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole as Deputy Director Army Public Relations.
Officers affected by the new posting from other departments are: Brig. Gen. NJ Okah who has been posted from Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies (NAITES) to Army Headquarters, Department of Logistics and appointed Acting Director of Engineering Services; Brig. Gen. MA Masanawa from Army Headquarters, Department of Army Policy and Plans to ACADA and appointed Commander; while Brig. Gen. HT Wesley posted from Headquarters, Nigerian Army Ordinance Corps to Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics has been appointed Director Clothing and Store.
Others are: Brig. Gen. HG Tafida of the Nigerian Army Central Workshop Rigachukwu posted to Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics and appointed Director Engineering and Maintenance; Brig. Gen. BA Ilori has been posted to Army Headquarters Department of Army Policy and Plans and appointed Deputy Director Equipment Procurement; Brig. Gen. AA Adereti posted to National Defence College as Directing Staff and Col. S Adama, appointed new Acting Corps Commander Nigerian Army Medical Corps.
Also affected by the new posting are: Col. OG Olaniyi who moved from Nigerian Army School of Music to Nigerian Army Band Corps as Acting Director Army Band; while Col. EI Okoro and Colonel I P Bindul are posted to Army War College Nigeria as Directing Staff.
